Several players have made their mark on the world stage after rising through the team's youth ranks over the years, and according to SPORT, 17-year-old Alejandro Monserrate of Real Zaragoza is now being considered as a new recruit.
Monserrate, also known as 'Jano,' is a versatile attacking midfielder with a left foot who can play in both the number 8 and number 10 positions. The 17-year-old is currently playing in the División de Hono for Zaragoza's youth team and has piqued the interest of many across the continent.

Monserrate is not a new name. Barça officials traveled to Zaragoza in January 2022 to sign him, but received no definitive response from the club.
Real Madrid and Serie A side AS Roma were thought to be in the race at the time, and now, while Roma has withdrawn, Madrid continues to pursue the youngster, while Villarreal and Atletico Madrid have also joined the race.
For the time being, Zaragoza have accepted that keeping their 2006-born player will be difficult, and his consistent performances at the youth level have piqued the interest of big teams.
Barcelona has been keeping an eye on him for a long time and has attempted to sign him on several occasions in the past, but there has been no movement from Zaragoza's side.
