The UEFA Champions League final between Real Madrid and AC Milan has a possibility to happen. In the first leg of their respective quarterfinal matches, both teams triumphed. It appears that the two are also engaged in talks to sign a player. Brahim Diaz, who has left quite an impression this season, is the one and only.
Since 2019, Brahim has been a member of Real Madrid. However, the Spaniard has spent the last three seasons on loan with AC Milan, where he undoubtedly developed as a player.
This season, Brahim appears to be playing some of his greatest football. And it appears that AC Milan are now looking to sign him on a permanent basis.
According to Tuttosport (via SPORT), AC Milan and Real Madrid have already started discussing a transfer for Brahim during the upcoming transfer window. The Italian team is seeking a deal for between €18 and €20 million.
With his accomplishments this year, Brahim appears to have attracted the attention of some of the top clubs in the world, and AC Milan have opened discussions to sign him. Rumour has it that a number of other teams, including Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, and others, are also keeping an eye on the Spaniard.
There have also been rumours that the loan agreement for about €22 million included an option for AC Milan to purchase. Real Madrid would have a buyback option set at €27 million in that case.
One has to believe that Real Madrid could receive a large transfer fee if a Premier League club made an offer to buy Brahim. So, to put it mildly, the player's immediate environment is interesting.
Naturally, going back to Real Madrid is a very real possibility as well. The team now lacks depth in its squad and, to put it mildly, needs additional players.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Rafael Leao received a lot of attention leading up to the quarterfinal match between Napoli and Milan in the Italian Champions League.
Both were regarded as the men who could win the game with a flash of inspiration or genius. This was appropriate given how utterly devastating the Georgian has been this season since arriving and Leao’s continual development at Milan over the past three years. On the night, Brahim Diaz, a different creative talent, outperformed both.
When he eluded two tackles in the tightest of spaces to rampage deep into Napoli territory in the buildup to Ismael Bennacer's goal in the 40th minute, the little Spaniard created the play's pivotal moment. When Mario Rui and Stanislav Lobotka closed in on Diaz as he was facing his own goal with the ball, he twisted and with two deft touches, skipped past both of them and into the sand pace they left behind.
