Atletico, Liverpool, Man Utd, and Milan are interested in a star from Celta Vigo who has a release clause
A report claims that AC Milan is one of the teams monitoring Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga ahead of the summer transfer season.
The morning edition of the Galician newspaper Atlantico (via KeepUp) reports that Milan, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Napoli are all keeping a careful eye on Veiga because of his reasonable release clause.
Under Carlos Carvahal, the 20-year-old has established himself as a reliable starter. He has even scored 9 goals in 26 LaLiga games, an excellent total primarily from the playmaker position.
His accomplishments also earned him a call-up to the Spain U21 national team, and Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham, Newcastle United, Napoli, and Milan are all interested in his contract, which has a €40 million release clause.
The newspaper continues by stating that Celta Vigo is aware that major clubs may approach them, but they will not lower their asking price, which is the €40 million in his contract that the clause specifies.
There are other parties who are interested in Veiga besides the two footballing behemoths. According to the article, in addition to Leeds United and Bournemouth making attempts to sign him in January, Napoli, Milan, and Newcastle United have also reportedly showed interest.
The release clause in Veiga's contract at Celta Vigo is reportedly worth €40 million (£35 million), making the Spaniard an appealing option and a player with potential. If pricey deals for either Jude Bellingham or Frenkie de Jong fall through, United might choose Veiga, while Liverpool also want to sign the Borussia Dortmund midfielder as their top choice.
With so many clubs expressing interest, Celta is attempting to extend Veiga's current contract in order to raise the release clause before the summer. The midfielder's inclusion in the Spain squad for their next Euro 2024 qualifiers would be a tremendous demonstration of his talent.
His eight goals in 24 league games this season have earned him a spot in Spain's squad for the forthcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers.
ESPN has learned from sources that Veiga's growth is also being closely watched by Newcastle United, AC Milan, and Napoli. In an effort to entice the midfielder to the Premier League in January, Leeds United and Bournemouth made contact.
Clubs in the Premier League consider Veiga as a good acquisition for both the present and the future, with a release clause set at €40 million.
ESPN has learned from sources that Liverpool has requested information on Veiga's personal and professional lives.
