Frank Lampard believes that despite Chelsea's challenging season, the future is still looking promising.

Frank Lampard, the interim manager of Chelsea, thinks the team needs to concentrate on its own goals and disregard outside advice.

The Blues, who are currently 11th in the Premier League after 30 games, have struggled this season after spending an eye-watering amount of money on players in the last two transfer windows.

On Saturday, Chelsea will play host to Brighton and Hove Albion, who are four spots above them. Since the London club fired their previous head coach, Graham Potter, in September, the Seagulls have flourished under manager Roberto De Zerbi.

"Brighton is a great model, in my opinion. You can follow their improvement over the past five, six, and seven years, and that is their course "During a press conference on Friday, Lampard stated.

"The road taken by Chelsea, a team that has enjoyed tremendous success for a long time, is different. Perhaps a team where the ownership has changed, players have left, and future players are being recruited.

"The work Arsenal has done and everyone's evaluation of them, including the owner and manager, has made them into a magnificent model.

"You must realize that there are times when you must put in extra effort when working on a project. We shouldn't concentrate on opinions, in my opinion."

Kalidou Koulibaly, who suffered a hamstring injury in Wednesday's 2-0 Champions League quarterfinal first leg loss to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, has been ruled out for the foreseeable future, according to Lampard.

"He won't be able to play in either match (Brighton or the return vs Madrid). If it's a hamstring issue, it'll take weeks rather than days to heal "explained he.

According to reports, the club has reportedly activated a clause in midfielder Enzo Fernandez's contract to extend his already lengthy eight-year contract by another year in order to assist spread out their spending even more.

The World Cup champion joined Chelsea in January for a club-record £106.8 million (€121 million). Lampard has been impressed.
