Leroy Sane and Sadio Mane were involved in an altercation and the former received a fine and suspension from the team.
Leroy Sane and Sadio Mane apparently engaged in an altercation in which the former Liverpool player punched his Bayern Munich teammate, and Thomas Tuchel was eager to put an end to it.
The two were seen arguing on the field during Bayern's 3-0 loss to Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal on Tuesday. There were rumors that they had gotten physical after the game.
Mane was fined and barred from Saturday's Bundesliga match at home against Hoffenheim, Bayern Munich said on Thursday.
"Yeah, there was only one match and a fine. These are the results of his actions, "Tuchel, the head coach of Bayern, announced this at a press conference on Friday.
Added him: "I was in the coaching room, so I was unable to see anything for myself. Naturally, I quickly contacted all parties, including the staff and players.
"Before we began the following training session, it was crucial that we outlined the situation.
That's what we did yesterday.
We have resolved everything so that we may once more train constructively with one another.
"It had a purifying impact on both the guys that were engaged and the other players due to how they handled it.
The atmosphere was good both yesterday and today."
Tuchel stated that the problem is now resolved and backed Mane, saying he thought it was inappropriate behavior from someone he considered to be a "absolute professional."
"I'm the first to stand up for him. He's someone I've known for a very long time, and I only know him to be the utmost professional. He has never been accountable for anything similar before.
He acknowledged that it was against the club's code of conduct and apologized.
Since moving from Liverpool last year, Mane has struggled both on and off the field, and many have questioned if he can maintain the level of play he displayed while playing for Anfield.
