Reports have claimed that Chelsea no longer believes goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga deserves the salary he is earning at the club.

According to the Evening Standard, the Blues are currently in the camp that they will let the Spaniard go if there is a good offer for his service.

This season has certainly set up an arc of redemption for officially marginalized Kepa. Under Graham Potter, he once again established himself as number one at Stamford Bridge.

And this is despite the presence of Edouard Mendy in the ranks, recognized as the best goalkeeper on the continent less than two years ago. The comeback has helped ensure the £70m signing doesn't look like a total flop, which she is seriously aiming for as he is frequently on the bench.

However, that doesn't mean he has been perfect since returning to the first team.

Kepa doesn't deserve his salary

His role in goals is often questioned, which is not the case as much as against Real Madrid last week.

In the Blues' biggest game of the season, Kepa was criticized for both goals as they gave themselves a mountain to climb in the quarter-final second leg.

The goalkeeping job will be settled this summer, with many Premier League-caliber names involved in the change. David Raya is unlikely to extend his contract with Brentford in west London, and he is one of the candidates for the job at Stamford Bridge.

With just one year left on his contract, he could be a solid player to target for the Blues without going bankrupt.
