Chelsea fans believe that Noni Madueke "blames" Marc Cucurella for Ben Chilwell's red card in the Champions League match against Real Madrid.

Chilwell received the marching order after training Rodrygo just before an hour, with fans online taking aim at Cucurella for not following the Brazilian's run.

The La Liga giants, leading 1-0 when Chilwell was sent off, doubled their advantage 15 minutes after Marco Asensio scored.

Speaking after the 0-2 loss at the Bernabeu, Frank Lampard said the left-back's absence in the second leg would be a big omission as he shared his thoughts on the streak.

"It's a shame for Chilly because I think he's trying to fix a situation where he shouldn't be trying to recover, so I feel sorry for him there and we miss him so much." he declared. Chilwell later apologized for his red card as he took to social media to admit the decision to foul Rodrygo was a 'mistake'.

He wrote:

"I fell asleep and just wanted to apologize to my teammates and the fans. I made the decision in a split second last night and it was a mistake. I've always given my best for the team and I will. continue to do so. Thank you for the support."

His teammates responded to the post, including Madueke, who appeared to blame Cucurella in commenting:

"It's not your fault."

Naturally, the exchange between Chilwell and Madueke made Chelsea fans talk about it online. One Twitter user wrote:

"LOOOL no, he didn't comment on that. We could end up with a squad full of players with no backbone.

Noi a real for that answer.”

A second tweet:

"From Chilwell to Noni it's embarrassing."

The third added:

"Then we wondered why we were nuts, there's no chemistry on this team, just a bunch of individuals who don't even respect each other."

The fourth said:

"To be fair, it's really Cucurella'a's fault."

Another commented:

"Madueke knows."

Chilwell will not be available for next Tuesday's second leg at Stamford Bridge as the Blues look to reverse the two-goal gap.
