When asked if he would leave Liverpool over Jude Bellingham, Jurgen Klopp responded in a "angry" manner
When asked if he would leave Liverpool once Jude Bellingham became available, Jurgen Klopp responded with a "angry" tone.
Klopp concedes Liverpool's chase of Bellingham has failed.
Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, has responded to rumours that he would leave for a team with greater financial clout in the transfer market. Jude Bellingham, a target for midfielder Jurgen Klopp this summer, is being referred to as a "Ferrari" that the Reds cannot afford.
Prior to a major transfer war that was anticipated to involve Manchester City, Manchester United, and Real Madrid, Liverpool was thought to be the front-runner to capture Bellingham.
Therefore, news that they had withdrawn from the race earlier this week sent
shockwaves through the football community, casting doubt on the future of the 19-year-old.
Bellingham's departure from Borussia Dortmund is expected to cost a stunning £135 million plus add-ons; this summer, Liverpool has to spend that money on two or three new midfielders.
In addition, ahead of a much-needed renovation, Klopp wasn't in the mood to answer questions regarding his future at Anfield during his press conference on Friday.
The German manager said that he wasn't 'mad' about Bellingham eluding him and emphasised that Liverpool remained 'his club' after being informed that he would have a variety of high-profile jobs at his feet if he were to go.
Liverpool is no longer a contender for Jude Bellingham.
It was his reply, "This is my club. Your suggestion I left and awaited the next high-level position? Really? I belong to this club. You want to know if I'm upset that we can't do this or that as I sit here. I'm not, no. Not me. I work here even though I don't always agree with what we do.I'm not here to vent my rage over whether or not certain things will pan out. We don't suddenly have additional money or means to do everything if I get furious.Being angry is inappropriate, and I'm too much of a professional to allow it. You put it to use. Get the most out of it. We are not youngsters.
Jurgen Klopp has joined the Liverpool legend.
"If a five-year-old wants a Ferrari for Christmas. You wouldn't say, 'Oh, that is a good idea.' You would say that it is too expensive. Anyway, you cannot drive it.
"If this kid then spends his whole life unhappy because he cannot get a Ferrari, then that is a sad life."
Liverpool's fading hopes of Champions League qualification will further damage their ability to spend heavily at the end of the season.
But a new-look midfield next term would almost feel like Klopp hitting the restart button to begin a new project after his era of success.
