A target for Real Madrid wants to sign with Barcelona in the summer

Dani Olmo, an offensive midfielder for RB Leipzig, is being watched by a number of elite clubs, but according to writer Christian Falk (via Caught Offside), FC Barcelona is his preferred destination.

Olmo, 24, is scheduled to leave Leipzig in the summer with a contract that runs until 2024. Manchester United of the Premier League is reportedly also interested in acquiring him, but in order to do so, they must confirm their participation in the Champions League for the upcoming year.

According to reports in England, Tottenham Hotspur and Leipzig have already started talking about the possibilities of a trade.

Recent reports even claimed that Real Madrid had made first contact with the Spaniard's team and that the player would be open to moving to the Bernabeu. However, it appears that the offensive midfielder wants to return to Barcelona.

Leipzig is prepared to extend him a new deal, but if the player rejects it, they will consider other offers because they do not want to lose him for nothing in 2024.

Olmo is claimed to be aware of the situation and to have a preference for the Spanish La Liga, but he is also open to exploring fresh possibilities in the Premier League.

It should be mentioned that Leipzig values Olmo at €40  million, But if they miss out on the Champions League the following year, their hopes would be lowered. With 11 games remaining, anything is still possible as they currently hold the fourth and last UCL position in the Bundesliga rankings.

Olmo, who joined the squad at the age of nine from Espanyol, was once a prodigy of the renowned La Masia programme. He made the decision to sign with Dinamo Zagreb in 2014, nevertheless, and will go to Leipzig in 2020.

He has made almost 110 appearances in all competitions since his debut with the German squad, scoring 20 goals. Despite his injuries this season, he has still managed to make 23 appearances and score four goals.

Dani Olmo, an offensive midfielder for RB Leipzig who has been linked with a transfer to Real Madrid, reportedly told a German journalist named Christian Falk that he would prefer to sign with FC Barcelona. The Spanish player would be open to moving to the Premier League as well.

Spanish news outlets suggested earlier this month that Olmo had become a potential target for Real Madrid going into the summer transfer season. The RB Leipzig team is having trouble renewing the former Barcelona academy standout's contract as he approaches the end of it.

Despite his previous allegiances to Barça, it was claimed that Olmo is eager to return to Spain and would consider a transfer to Real Madrid favourably. It was even proposed that initial contacts had already taken place between the two parties.

However, Christian Falk is now claiming that Olmo ideally like to join Barcelona in the summer, although he would be open to a transfer to the Premier League where Manchester United are said to be interested.
