Erling Haaland has named his options for two former Manchester City players he wants to play with in Pep Guardiola's current squad.

The City forward has been in phenomenal scoring form in his first season in England following a £51.2m move from Borussia Dortmund last summer.

Haaland has scored 47 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions for City, with the Norwegian powerhouse showing few signs of slowing down.

The 22-year-old Norwegian has brought his total Premier League goals to 32 in 28 appearances, surpassing Harry Kane by nine in the race for the Golden Boot.

Haaland won City's Player of the Month award in March, the month he scored five goals against RB Leipzig in the Champions League round of 16. Appearing in Man City's TikTok video (see above), Haaland held up the Player of the Month award when asked which former City player he would like to have in his current squad.

The former Dortmund star has revealed his two options will be Man City legend Vincent Kompany or Mario Balotelli, a favorite with Man City fans.

“I think I should say [Vincent] Kompany, a great legend,” Haaland said.

"I think it would be fun to play with [Mario] Balotelli. So one of two things:

Balotelli or Kompany would be great.

One fan said in response to their picks:

"LOL, I'd love to see Erling and Mario on [up]."

Another added:

"I feel like Balotelli will give his best with him at the top."

Another person wrote:

"Imagine Haaland and Balotelli starting in the same team. That would be chaos.

Haaland is a huge fan of Balotelli and revealed the 32-year-old Italian striker and AC Milan star Zlatan Ibrahimovic were his childhood heroes growing up.

“Except for my father, maybe Zlatan Ibrahimovic,” he said.

Hallland added:

“Maybe I should talk about myself because I believe in myself so much.

"On the other hand, there are some good guys, I think I have to say maybe Mario Balotelli because he's probably the best penalty taker I've ever seen.

“Do you remember all the things he did?” Foolhardy. He's actually a really nice guy, so maybe me or him.
