Chelsea have pinned their hopes on Europe after their poor performance in the Premier League yesterday when they were beaten 2-1 at home by Brighton. Throughout the match, the Blues were completely overwhelmed. Despite Gallagher's early lead, Brighton rose and beat Kepa thanks to Welbeck and Enciso to win all 3 points for the home team. The Blues have now lost three games in a row since Lampard's arrival, and I'm sure the fans are furious.
Meanwhile, looking at the Blues' next three games and based on their poor performance recently, it's safe to say their European dream is over.

As noted above, Chelsea will face Real Madrid in the second leg at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday. The Blues lost the first leg 0-2 and given their recent form, they are no match for the Spanish giants. The final two games on the list will see them face Brentford and Arsenal in the Premier League, which won't be easy. Both teams are vying for next season's European Cup and have been in good form lately, so both want a chance against a struggling Chelsea.
Losing those three games would permanently end Chelsea's hopes of attending any European competition next season.

Roy Keane showed rare sympathy for Manchester United captain Harry Maguire after a poor first-half performance at Nottingham Forest. The England international returned to the starting line-up for the trip to the City Ground with Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez both out through injury and he could be said to be barely convincing.
Maguire was warned just three minutes after knocking down Taiwo Awoniyi, trying to fend off the attacker on the ground.
He then made an easy pass out of place and his shaky performance excited the home crowd, who began mocking the £80m centre-back. After letting the ball go into the corner, Maguire's afternoon almost took a turn for the worse as he tackled inside the box after Forest's pass towards the post.
However, after a VAR check, Simon Hooper was given the green light to continue as United were given the clear indication.

When Maguire jumped in with two of his teammates and David de Gea, the ball clearly hit his hand but luckily for the Reds they got out of the situation.
United took a 1-0 lead at halftime after Antony's opening goal and viewers were likely to expect Keane to lash out at his former team's shaky captain.
But that was far from happening as Keane shared his sympathies with Maguire as he pondered an appeal against Forest's sentence. He said on the set of Sky Sports:
"Harry, you know, he probably deserves that bit of luck.
"I think obviously giving a penalty against him you will feel for him.
"I know they're all there fighting and you think if he gave the penalty maybe you wouldn't complain so much.
"So he's lucky! Oh, the keeper has to come pick him up."
