Fabrizio Romano, a midfielder for Barcelona, is still wanted by several Serie A powerhouses.
Given that a number of players are expected to leave Camp Nou this summer, it seems sense that Barcelona is preparing for a pivotal season.
While the club is attempting to force the departures of players like Sergino Dest, Samuel Umtiti, and Clement Lenglet, among others, there may also be some unwelcome departures.
Fabrizio Romano (h/t Caught Offside) claims that Franck Kessie may be one of those unexpected departures because Inter Milan has continued to closely monitor his progress.
Giuseppe Meazza was mentioned as a potential destination for the midfielder in January, and nothing has altered in that regard since then.
It is hardly surprising that Kessie has been pursued by Inter Milan so tenaciously given how well the Ivorian has performed from the year's beginning.
He has established himself as an essential first-team outlet for Xavi Hernandez in the absence of the injured Pedri and even Frenkie de Jong.
Everyone at Barcelona has been impressed by Kessie's turnaround, which has led the team to change its position on his future.
However, one may sense that Kessie's move might not be fully ruled out this coming summer due to clubs like Inter keeping an eye on the midfielder and Barcelona's dire need to cut their payroll budget.
After all, Ferran Torres has been linked to a move away from Camp Nou, while Barcelona is willing to sell Ansu Fati, one of their great players. Therefore, it cannot be ruled out that Kessie will be sold, especially since the club is keeping an eye on Marcelo Brozovic of Inter Milan.
However, it is still too early to predict the former AC Milan starlet's destiny at this time. A lot more will be revealed in the coming weeks as we enter the final phase of the campaign.
