Hugo Lloris, the captain of Tottenham, claims he has never witnessed the treatment Davinson Sanchez received from his own supporters.
Hugo Lloris called the whistles that Davinson Sanchez endured from Tottenham supporters after a shocking 3-2 loss to Bournemouth "sad for the team."
Ten minutes before halftime of the Premier League match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Sanchez came on to replace the injured Clement Lenglet, although his time on the field was brief.
Inadvertently pushing the ball into Dominic Solanke's path before he beat Lloris, the Colombian international gave the relegation-threatened Cherries the chance to go up 2-1 after the break.
Centre-back After being replaced by Arnaut Danjuma in the 58th minute, who then equalized before Bournemouth's Dango Ouattara scored the game's final goal, Sanchez was shortly back on the bench.
When Sanchez was taken off the field, Tottenham fans booed him, and captain Lloris was not pleased with the way he was treated.
BeIN Sports' goalkeeper for France: "It began earlier. When he entered the field of play. Throughout my professional life, I've never witnessed anything like this.
"I'm very sorry for Davinson. He has been fighting for the club for many, many years and is a teammate, a buddy, and both.
"Just sad, really. For the team, the supporters, and the player, the tale is depressing. In football, it's something you don't want to see."
Cristian Stellini, the temporary manager of Tottenham, emphasized how crucial it is for the team to support Sanchez.
I realize it's a trying time for everyone, and we need to examine this situation, he said. "Everyone must consider how crucial it is to back a player.
"I accept accountability for the choices I make. We had a 1-0 lead going into halftime, so I felt it was premature to add another striker.
"I believed Davinson should be taken off when we were down 2-1. Only a tactical choice had been made. He needs our support because this is a trying time for him and the entire team."
