SSNIT Sends Vital Notice To All Members and The General Public – A must read.

The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) through a public statement has warned the general public of fraudulent Facebook account impersonating the Director-General of the Trust and falsely claiming to offer job opportunities in exchange for money.

According to SSNIT, the account is fake and has no affiliation with SSNIT.

THE PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT 

The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has recently become aware of a fraudulent Facebook account impersonating the Director-General of the Trust and falsely claiming to offer job opportunities in exchange for money.

SSNIT wishes to caution the public that this account is fake and has no affiliation with SSNIT or its Director-General.

SSNIT’s recruitment process is transparent and does not require any form of payment for job applications, nor does the Trust offer career opportunities through social media platforms such as Facebook.Visit this website for all the official and accurate information needed.

All hiring processes are handled by the Administration & Human Resource Division of SSNIT.

The Trust has taken this matter seriously and reported the fake account to the relevant authorities for further investigation.

SSNIT urges the public to be careful and refrain from engaging individuals or bodies purporting to represent SSNIT or its Director-

General on social media platforms.

About SSNIT 

INTRODUCTION

The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) is a statutory public Trust charged under the National Pensions Act, 2008 Act 766 with the administration of Ghana’s Basic National Social Security Scheme. Its mandate is to cater for the First Tier of the Three-Tier Pension Scheme. The Trust is currently the largest non-bank financial institution in Ghana.

The primary responsibility of the Trust is to replace part of lost income of workers in Ghana due to Old Age, Invalidity or Death of a member where dependants receive lump sum payment. It is also responsible for the payment of Emigration benefit to a non-Ghanaian member who is leaving Ghana permanently.

The Pension Scheme as administered by SSNIT has an active membership of over 1.6 million as at January, 2021 with over 226,000 pensioners who regularly receive their monthly pensions from SSNIT.
