With Bayern Munich's future uncertain, Jurgen Klopp's parting letter to Sadio Mane takes on new significance.

Sadio Mane is having a terrible season at Bayern Munich, but the forward is still highly regarded by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp despite his departure last summer."

Jurgen Klopp made it plain when Sadio Mane departed Liverpool last summer that he believed the attacker would be a success at new club Bayern Munich.

However, those remarks have taken on additional significance in light of Senegal's disastrous effort in Germany. Mane fell out of favor near the end of Julian Nagelsmann's tenure as manager, and he has failed to establish himself under new manager Thomas Tuchel.

The low point of his stay at the Allianz Arena occurred following Bayern's Champions League defeat to Manchester City. Mane allegedly had an incident with teammate Leory Sane after the game, leaving the winger with a cracked lip.

reports from Sky Germany, Mane was fined the largest fine in Bayern Munich history. The Bundesliga giants also suspended him for the match against Hoffenheim, which ended in a stalemate.

Bayern Munich are considered to be open to selling Mane in the summer window, just a year after paying £35 million to sign him from Liverpool. His current predicament is a huge cry from last year, when his departure devastated Klopp.

"One of Liverpool's greatest ever players is leaving, and we must recognize the significance of this." He departs with our appreciation and love. "He leaves with his place among the greats secured," Klopp remarked.

"And, yes, he leaves at a time when he is one of the best players in the world." But rather than lamenting what we have lost, we should rejoice in what we have.

'The goals he scored, the trophies he achieved; he was a legend, to be sure, but he was also a modern-day Liverpool hero. I absolutely accept his decision, and I'm sure our supporters do as well. If you love LFC, you have to love Sadio - it's a no-brainer.

"We can do this while accepting that our loss is Bayern's gain." We wish him the best of luck in every match he plays in, unless it's against us. I have no doubt that his star will continue to soar."

Former Liverpool midfielder Stan Collymore feels Mane should be one of the Reds' primary targets. Despite departing Anfield last summer, the Englishman believes the attacker still has "a lot to offer."

"After events in the Bayern Munich dressing room this week, I'd have a nibble at Mane and see if Jurgen Klopp could go a few steps towards getting the show back on the road like that," he told the Sunday People.

"Darwin Nunez is ready to take on the role of Bobby Firmino, and with Mane and Salah on either end of him, plus Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, and Diogo Jota as very, very good back-up, he is a very, very good option." Mane still has a lot to give, and if there's a good deal to be had, I'd take it be making the decision."
