Sources have verified to 90min that Barcelona insists they are not worried about Ronald Araujo's contract issue at the club.

Araujo signed a new long-term deal last year, much like the highly regarded Gavi, but owing to their financial troubles, Barcelona was unable to officially register it with La Liga.

Araujo signed a new four-year contract last summer to extend his existing one, which was set to expire in 2023.

Barcelona is aware that Araujo has been upset by the situation, and his advisors have been fielding requests for his services from a number of clubs in case the Uruguayan international decides his future would be better served elsewhere.

Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United were among the teams to inquire about Araujo, according to information provided to 90 minutes. Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, and Inter have all expressed interest in the player, but Barcelona is adamant that he is not and will not be available.

According to insiders at Barca, they are "not scared" and believe that Araujo's contract won't be a problem in the long run. They maintain that Araujo and Gavi will both play for Barcelona the next year and that, although being "frustrating," the matter with the contracts will be resolved in due course.

When asked about Gavi over the weekend, La Blaugrana director Mateu Alemany insisted: "We are going to register Gavi for sure. There is no issue; it will be finished and finished quickly. He will certainly complete his career with Barca, in our opinion.

After leaving Camp Nou for Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2021, Barcelona president Joan Laporta is still publicly optimistic that Lionel Messi would rejoin the team.

Messi committed to a two-year deal with PSG, which is almost up. Although the agreement did include a second 12-month option, the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner has been considering his options all season.
