Gabriel Jesus wants Arsenal to maintain their standards after they drew 2-2 with West Ham and dropped points for the second straight game.
After losing points for the second game in a row, Gabriel Jesus feels Arsenal must lift their game to stay in front of their Premier League title challenge.
The gap between the Gunners and the leaders has shrunk to just four points after they blew a 2-0 lead against West Ham on Sunday. This is the second game in a row that a two-goal advantage has been allowed to slip.
Within 10 minutes at London Stadium, Jesus and Martin Odegaard had the visitors in full command until Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen restored balance.
Jesus has urged his teammates to hold themselves to a higher standard this season since Manchester City, who have a game in hand, are close behind them.
He told the club's website, "Once again, the three points were in our hands. "The game is 90 minutes, of course. It's not twenty, or in this instance thirty minutes.
"As a group, we must raise the bar and revert to our core values. We are confident in our abilities and recognize our limits.
"We played really well in the first 10 to 20 minutes where we wanted to assault the opposition. After that, we fell off, which is obviously impossible if you want to compete for the crown.
"That is not the time to place the blame on our squad. We must once more lift the bar, return to our core values, and triumph in the games. We can only compete for the title once more in that manner."
On Wednesday of next week, Arsenal will play City at the Etihad Stadium in what is expected to be a crucial matchup in their title race.
But before that, they'll be hoping to get back on track against hapless Southampton on Friday at the Emirates Stadium.
