Sadio Mane received a club-record fine from Bayern Munich for his altercation with Leroy Sane in the locker room following the team's 3-0 loss to Manchester City last week.

The Senegal international received a €350,000 fine from the Bundesliga's top club for his actions, making it by far the club's largest sanction ever. To put things in perspective, Franck Ribery was only instructed to give up €50,000 when he had a conflict with Arjen Robben in 2012.

Bayern had the option of docking Mane a full month's salary, but decided against such a harsh penalty, according to a BILD report. The sentence was verified by club president Herbert Hainer, who stated: "The fine hurts him - even with his salary."

Thomas Tuchel, the manager of Bayern, stated that his team will not allow such behavior but added that the issue has been rectified.

It was a serious event, and it was crucial that it was resolved before the following training session, the man stated.

"Sadio is a top professional who I've known for a very long time. He has never encountered an instance like that. He has my whole trust and is totally committed to football. Everyone is free to make mistakes.

"This was excessive; he apologized, and I accept his apology. Although it was crucial that he continue his training, he has been suspended and will be punished. I'm unsure of the money's intended use; that will be decided by the player and the club. My first priority is not it.

Things that happen in the locker room should remain there, I think. Situations like those don't prove our squad is still alive. We don't put up with that kind of stuff.

Since Bayern were dismissed by City, Mane and Sane's falling out has dominated conversation. Pep Guardiola even made a joke about it before the second leg of the match on Wednesday in Munich.

The City manager asserted that "absolutely, sometimes you need conflict to make the team more cohesive." "It won't be a weak point against us; it will be a strong point."

"I am completely familiar with this club; I can picture the scenario against City; we play there, and the players will give it their all. Bayern will give it their all on Wednesday, but I am rather certain of what transpired.

The attacking members of Bayern must put aside their differences in order to develop the kind of camaraderie that will enable them to perform a miracle in Munich and erase City's three-goal advantage.
