So something happened yesterday at our hospital and I need answers
I work in a private hospital and our medications are very expensive so only the rich comes there.
That’s just by the way
But before I say anything about what happened yesterday, I’ll like to ask a question.
Why do Ghanaians hate nurses so much especially the green nurses i.e the diploma and certificate nurses?
Now back to my story
One of our colleague was leaving to the Uk so the management employed a new nurse and she’s a certificate nurse.
So yesterday a client came for an injection and we ask this new nurse to attend to her.
As she was attending to this woman, she kept asking so many questions then the big question dropped.
She ask the lady what nurse she is and she told her the truth that she’s an RNAC nurse
She could have lied cos we wear scrubs and you wouldn’t know but she decided to say the truth
Nooor this woman started yelling , I thought this hospital was a reputable hospital. We pay this huge amount of money to be attended to by certificate nurses?
And you see this nurse erh I can vouch for her. I can boldly say that she does her job better that some of these degree nurses. Back to the story we had to beg this woman and let the nurses she knows attend to her. Yes cos we can’t let her go with the money
We need it too
These nurses goes through the same process as the white nurse and every nurse works within their job description cos there are laws that governs that. No nurse works outside their job description cos they wouldn’t want the license they suffered for, revoked. It’s high time Ghanaians stop treating nurses this way
