Leroy Sane and Sadio Mane in awkward exchange after Bayern Munich dressing room fight
Leroy Sane, a former Liverpool forward, replaced his teammate in Wednesday's Champions League match against Manchester City, causing Sadio Mane and Leroy Sane to share an awkward substitution.
Mane, 31, was making his comeback after the German champions suspended him for the Bundesliga match last weekend after he allegedly punched Sane during their 3-0 Champions League loss at the Etihad last Tuesday. Along with a large fine, the former Liverpool forward was punished by being kept out of Bayern's Bundesliga match against Hoffenheim at the Allianz Arena.
Prior to the altercation, Mane had been grieving the loss of his aunt, who had passed away in Senegal, as exclusively reported by Mirror Football last week. Sane is rumored to have expressed his desire to get past it to his teammate afterward.
Mane received a €350k fine for his behavior, and Herbert Hainer, the company's president, said of the punishment: "The fine hurts him - even with his salary." It was a serious event, and it was crucial that it was resolved before the following training session, according to boss Thomas Tuchel.
"I've known Sadio for many years; he is a top professional," the former Chelsea coach continued. He has never encountered an instance like that. He has my whole trust and is totally committed to football. Each person has the right to make a mistake.
"This was too much - he apologised and I believe him. It was important that he stays in training, but he is suspended and he will be fined. I don't know where the money will go, the club and the player will decide. It is not my highest priority.

Things that happen in the locker room should remain there, I think. Situations like those don't prove our squad is still alive. We don't put up with that kind of stuff.
