Arsene Wenger reveals what happened in the dressing room between Leroy Sane and Sadio Mane.

Bayern Munich has had to deal with the consequences from the incident involving Leroy Sane and Sadio Mane, with Arsene Wenger stepping in with his thoughts.

According to Arsene Wenger, Sadio Mane's problem with Leroy Sane arose from a "rift within the club."

The Bayern Munich duo have been at odds in recent weeks, with the former Liverpool star striking his teammate following their defeat to Manchester City last week. Following his antics, which left Sane with a bleeding lip, the club fined the Senegalese star a six-figure sum.

Sane was replaced in the second half at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night by Mane, who is still attempting to find his form in Bavaria after joining them in the summer. Wenger believes that there were problems within the Bayern camp, which revealed themselves when the two collided.

"There is a rift in the team, and the management inside the club has to sort it out," he told BeIN Sports. Communication is the only method to solve this problem. You must foster trust and communication within the dressing room. When you have this difficulty with two players, most of the time you take them into the office and explain to them that "we cannot be successful if the players on the team do not cooperate well together."

Bayern Munich's triple ambitions have faded since Thomas Tuchel replaced Julian Nagelsmann in a surprise shift in the dugout. The former Chelsea manager has only won two of his first six games, resulting in the Bayern Munich are eliminated from the German Cup and the Champions League.

Tuchel maintained that Sane was a "top professional" when asked about the altercation between Sane and Mane, but added that such actions must go unpunished.

"I've known Sadio for many years - he is a top professional," he remarked. He's never been in a scenario like that before. He is focused on football, and he has my complete trust. Everyone has the right to make an error. This was excessive - he apologized, and I trust him. It was critical that he stay in training, but he has been suspended and will be fined.

"I'm not sure where the money will go; the club and the player will make that decision." It is not my top priority. Things that happen in the locker room should stay in the locker room. We don't need scenarios like that to demonstrate that our squad is still alive. Such behavior is not tolerated."

Rio Ferdinand, a former Champions League winner, admitted he wasn't surprised considering the situation's heightened emotions. "That's football, I'm not surprised," he told BT Sport. I know it creates headlines, but if something goes wrong on the football field, questions are asked, arms are lifted, and voices rise to a louder pitch, and that is normal."
