Many Ghanaians and music lovers were a bit surprised and dumbfounded when they got wind of the news about Ghanaian musician, Obrafour suing American artiste, Drake over the use of the 'Killer Cut' sound in his song titled 'Calling My Name'.

Even though Ghanaians are yet to really understand the facts of the case, one Mantse Aryeequaye has taken to social media to address Drake over the same issue with emphasis that he is the owner of the 'Killer Cut' sound irrespective of the fact that it is Obrafour who has taken the first step to sue him.

This new development makes the whole case very dicey but it is expected that the issue would be resolved within the shortest possible time . In his statement by Mantse Aryeequaye directed at Drake on Twitter, Mantse Aryeequaye maintains that the intellectual property of the 'Killer Cut' sound which was sampled in 'Calling My Name' belongs to him and not Obrafour.

He further maintains that the rights to the 'Killer Cut' sound were never relinquished to Obrafour but was used by Edward Nana Poku Osei popularly known as Hammer of the Last Two, who produced Obrafour's album and the song that has the 'Killer Cut' sound.

Mantse Aryeequaye has also made it clear to Drake that even though Obrafour has interest in the matter, he is not the owner of the right and as such , he cannot assert it, definitely not alone or make any demands for sole compensation for it's use.

He reiterated the fact that as the owner of the right covering the 'Killer Cut' sound, he requests Drake to contact his lawyer, Kofi Bentil before he takes any steps regarding claims for compensation for the use for the intellectual property of Mantse Aryeequaye.

Watch out for more updates soon and how this case would turn out to be.
