Barcelona's technical staff is not sold on the Bundesliga forward, but it is still an option.

Barcelona's roster has a number of serious gaps that need to be filled during the summer transfer window.

The team was greatly strengthened during the 2022 summer transfer window, but as the season has progressed, areas like left flank, right back, and defensive midfield have become issues.

As the season began, Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres were the obvious candidates for the left flank position. However, Xavi preferred to play Raphinha and Ousmane Dembele on the wings, frequently switching them mid-game to make the most of both players.

Torres and Fati had their chances, but they didn't wow the fans or the coaching staff. Barcelona began to use a substantially modified 4-3-3 at this point to obtain more control of the field, with Gavi as the false left-winger.

But it's becoming more and more obvious that Gavi can't stay on the wing. The Spaniard is more at ease in midfield, and Barcelona also needs a top forward who can match Raphinha and Dembele's figures from the right.

Barcelona is said to be keeping an eye on Marcus Thuram's status as he becomes a free agency at the end of the current season, in addition to players like Ez Abde and Yannick Carrasco who are on their list.

Thuram's name, according to a report by Mundo Deportivo's Gabriel Sans, does not seem to be popular with the team's technical staff. Barcelona is exploring for alternative candidates but hasn't fully ruled out the Frenchman just yet.

Thuram has already made the decision that his time at Borussia Monchengladbach is up, but he has not yet made up his mind about his next move. Among the teams looking to sign him are Manchester United, Inter Milan, and Liverpool.

It would be foolish to rule out any potential transfer targets for Barcelona just yet, since there are still more than two months until the transfer window opens. especially if they can be moved by a Bosman.
