Lionel Messi is planning a stunning return to Camp Nou, and Barcelona wants LaLiga to allow any such deal to go through.
A director of the Camp Nou giants believes Javier Tebas would be "very stupid" to try to stop Barcelona from re-signing Lionel Messi.
A day after Tebas' statement, Juli Guiu, vice president of marketing at Barcelona, responded by stating that LaLiga would not change its rules to facilitate such a trade.
Tebas, the head of the Spanish league, said he was anticipating Barcelona's "viability plan" for the upcoming campaign and hoped the team would "make the necessary moves to make space for Messi to come in, but of course we are not going to change any rules for Messi to sign"
For Barcelona, Messi created records by scoring 672 goals in 780 games, but two years ago, he sadly left on a free transfer because the club was unable to offer him a new contract due to financial constraints.
Since then, there has been a lot of discussion about Messi leaving Paris Saint-Germain because his initial contract in France expires at the end of the current campaign.
It appears to be a likely scenario, and Guiu told Spanish network RAC 1 that it "would be great news, even without the numbers that have been published."

When asked if Tebas would gain anything from Messi returning to LaLiga, Guiu responded, "Of course, and it would be very stupid if he didn't help us if this agreement ends up taking place."
Tebas claimed on Wednesday that Barcelona could find a means to pay for a contract for the player who led Argentina to World Cup victory in December.
Tebas asserted that "Barca can move; they sell players." Because I am a fan of Messi and would like to see him play in our league, that is what we hope will happen.
