Borussia Dortmund's 10-year title drought in the Bundesliga must end, and Edin Terzic wants his team to keep going and finish the job.
Borussia Dortmund is "closer than ever" to winning the Bundesliga, and Edin Terzic wants his team to take advantage of that.
Dortmund won two straight league championships between 2010 and 2012, but since then, rival Bayern Munich has dominated, winning the trophy for 10 straight seasons.
Dortmund, however, is only two points behind the Bavarian team with six games remaining because to a strong run of form since the beginning of 2023, during which time they have only lost one Bundesliga game, to Bayern.
Terzic expressed optimism for his team's ability to capitalize on the opportunity, saying to the media before of Saturday's match against Eintracht Frankfurt: "We're closer than ever to the championship trophy, and we don't want to waste this chance.
"In order to make this opportunity a reality, we need start seizing it with all of our might as soon as possible.
"We all need to be willing to go above and beyond if we want to succeed. To benefit from our beginning point, we must put everything into it. We need to win at home on Saturday for that to happen.
Terzic believes his players are entering the closing stages of the season "with a portion of anger" because Dortmund would have been tied with Bayern on points if it weren't for surrendering an equalizer away at 10-man Stuttgart in the 97th minute last time out.
Terzic also stated that there was a "question mark" regarding Niklas Sule, Nico Schlotterbeck, and Anthony Modeste's availability for the match against European contender Frankfurt, but he added: "They were already able to increase the intensity in training, so we have to wait and see."
