According to 90min, Valencia are preparing for summer interest in midfield sensation Yunus Musah as a number of Premier League clubs are prepared to provide him a way back to England.
The 20-year-old had a fantastic World Cup with the Americans, advancing them to the round of 16. Valencia initiated negotiations for a new contract late last year after realizing his growing influence, but no agreement has yet been reached. But some of that has been brought on by the club's own difficulties.
The Spanish club's financial situation is not ideal, and in recent months, fan demonstrations against owner Peter Lim have erupted. With the club mired in a La Liga relegation battle, on-field performances have also been significant.
In an effort to avoid dropping to the basement, the former back-to-back Champions League finalists recently hired 2000s legend Ruben Baraja.
It is maybe not surprising that Musah is now considering his future given all of their problems. 90min is aware that he joined Valencia in 2019 after electing to leave the Arsenal academy and is now prepared to go on. He might even return to north London shortly.
As 90min reported earlier this season, one of the teams closely monitoring Valencia and Musah's predicament is Arsenal. This summer, the Gunners are actively searching for a midfielder, and Musah is a player they are familiar with as well as one they have been working with.
He was being watched by several clubs before the 2022 World Cup, including Chelsea and Liverpool, which only highlighted his potential. Both of them have continued to communicate with the player's agents, like Arsenal has. The list of interested parties now includes Newcastle and Brighton, who each hope to deliver European football next season to any potential new signings.
Musah has several choices to stay in Spain and elsewhere in Europe. His fans include Atletico Madrid, as well as Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Wolfsburg.
Musah's current contract has a 100 million release clause and goes until 2026, but insiders have told 90min that given their problems both on and off the field, they wouldn't be able to turn down any kind of significant offer.
