The cars were shipped and delivered but North Korea ignored the invoice she refused to pay. The cost of one Volvo at the time was estimated to be $70,000, this $70 million in total for the 1,000 cars. All efforts from Volvo to retrieve their money and cars proved futile making the largest car theft in the world.
