Chelsea crashed out of the Champions League this week losing 4-0 to Real Madrid on aggregate, and things are sour.
It’s crazy when you feel you can play until midnight and never score a goal. N’Golo Kante’s second chance compared to the Rodrygo goal is kind of the same action where it was fully crowded when Kante misses and fully crowded when Rodrygo scores. That’s the difference between Real Madrid being clinical and Chelsea not being able to score.
I thought Chelsea did well on the whole though. It was interesting to see how the team that Frank Lampard put out, it was so defensive. But they still created chances and as many chances as when he plays with an offensive lineup. He wanted to make sure they didn’t concede a goal and we had chances to score. Kante had two, Marc Cucurella had one, so did Conor Gallagher. If they scored it would have been a different story, especially if Cucurella scored right before half time. We go back to the same issue, Chelsea cannot score a bloody goal! I felt before half time that Real Madrid could score at any time despite us being on top, and that was the thing.
We really have a big confidence problem right now. How is it possible for these players, Mykhailo Mudryk and Joao Felix, to shoot so far away from the goal when they are only seven yards away from the goal. They have no confidence and they need to get that back. ...
