Mason Mount, a star for Chelsea, announced on social media that he would be closing his Twitter account. Given that the offensive midfielder's contract is slated to end in 2024 and there is no indication that a renewal has been reached, his future at the club where he spent his formative years is very uncertain.

According to football.london, a number of clubs have expressed interest in Mount since they know he could go in the summer. Liverpool has even listed him as their top target. Chelsea and Mount have had a poor 2022–23 season, with the latter struggling to secure regular playing time.
