Recent news reports have it that Real Madrid has renewed its faith in Carlo Ancelotti following the club’s impressive and love-to-watch performance against Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey semi-final and their victory over Chelsea in the Champions League quarterfinals. However, Mario Cortegana and Guillermo Rai, two Athletic reporters, suggest that Ancelotti's future at the club is not secure, despite these speculations. The Italian manager and his team do not know whether they will remain at Santiago Bernabeu in the summer. Ancelotti has privately expressed annoyance with the criticism that has been leaked to the media, including his team selection and tactical choices. Florentino Perez, the club president, has little patience with players who struggle to deliver his favourite trophies – the Champions League and La Liga. Real Madrid are on the verge of missing out on the league title, so it will be crucial for Ancelotti to help his team deliver the UCL.

Real Madrid's upcoming game against Manchester City in the semifinals of the Champions League is expected to be a challenging affair for the Spanish giants. Former Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger has already favoured Man City in the tie due to their strong defence. Florentino Perez also does not like managers that get too close to the players. He prefers a strongman who can have control of the dressing room. That is why Real Madrid ended up hiring managers such as Ancelotti and Zinedine Zidane twice over the past decade. While Ancelotti does have a good outlook in the dressing room, the Italian coach must deliver at the end of the season to retain his place as the Real Madrid manager next season.

Real Madrid has had an appeal rejected for a change in the first leg of their Champions League semifinal against Manchester City. The first-leg will take place on Tuesday 9 May at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu. Real Madrid's upset with the decision is due to the Copa del Rey final being played three days earlier, with only 71 hours between kick-off in the two matches. After losing the Spanish Super Cup to Barcelona in Riyadh, the Copa final against Osasuna represents an opportunity for them to win their first domestic trophy of the season. As such, Real Madrid is puzzled by UEFA's decision to hold their first-leg clash against City on Tuesday.

Overall, it promises to be an important phase ahead for not only Ancelotti but also Real Madrid in general. The club needs to win the Champions League and finish strongly in La Liga to secure their future. Real Madrid has struggled to deliver consistent performances this season, and the club needs to make significant changes in the upcoming transfer window to ensure that they remain competitive next season. Ancelotti's future is not guaranteed, and the Italian coach will need to prove his worth in the remaining matches of the season to retain his place as the Real Madrid manager next season.

Also Real Madrid in general. The club need to win the Champions League and finish strong in La Liga to secure their future. Real Madrid have struggled to provide consistency this season and the club will need to make big changes in the upcoming transfer window to ensure they remain competitive next season. Ancelotti's future is uncertain, with the Italian boss needing to prove himself over the rest of the season to secure his job at Real Madrid next season.
