While confirming a meeting with the Ghana Police Service, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) voiced displeasure with several of the points stated.

On Monday, April 17, the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Dampare, met with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), assuring them of the police's neutrality in upholding law and order and admonishing them to stop meddling with their job.

He also informed both sides of several police security-related activities.

The NDC maintains, however, that they "disagreed with the police on a number of critical issues" in a statement.

"Party representatives at the meeting also voiced their displeasure with the police's lack of action in the investigation into the murders of several Ghanaians during the 2020 General Election in the Techiman South and Ablekuma Central Constituencies." Regarding this, the party emphatically refuted the police's assertion that it was unable to identify the military officers and other individuals in uniform who fired and murdered these defenseless Ghanaian citizens.

The party argued persuasively that the aforementioned military officials were dispatched to these sites on that fatal day under the direction of the Military High Command. Therefore, it could hardly be stated that their identities were a mystery. Nevertheless, some of these occurrences were recorded on video, and there are several videos out there that can help the police in their inquiries. In order to hasten the investigation of these major murder cases, the party consequently charged the police.

The NDC National Youth and Women Convention in Cape Coast recently saw disruptions, and the party voiced outrage at the harsh and degrading treatment given to a young party activist named Mohammed Nasir, who was detained in connection with the disturbances. Sammy Gyamfi, the party's national communications officer, issued a statement that claimed that Mohammed Nazir had been tortured and assaulted for four days straight while in police detention.
