BARCELONA NEW TRANSFER

UPDATES πŸ”₯πŸ’™β€

-Roberto Firmino has agreed a deal to

join Barcelona when his Liverpool

contract ends in June.

It will bring to a close his glittering

eight-year stay at Anfield, where he is

no longer a regular starter in Jurgen

Klopp’s team.

He has won the Champions League,

the Premier League, the FA Cup, the

League Cup and the Club World Cup

since his Β£29million move from

Hoffenheim in 2015.

Klopp has made it clear he would

have liked to keep Firmino, 31, but the

Brazilian has made up his mind to

move on to a new challenge.

He has suffered a hamstring injury

and will miss the next three games,

but Klopp remains hopeful he can

return before the end of the season.

New signings Darwin Nunez and Cody

Gakpo, from Benfica and PSV

respectively, have edged Firmino

further from the starting line-up.

Fan favourite Firmino has scored 109

goals in 360 appearances for

Liverpool.

He can expect an emotional farewell

after the final home game of the

season, against Aston Villa on May 20

This summer’s transfer window is expected to
be a busy one, with several arrivals having
been heavily linked over the last few weeks, as
Xavi Hernandez seeks reinforcements for his
first team squad.

However, departures will also be

essential, as they look to improve

their precarious financial situation. La

Liga President Javier Tebas has

stated that Barcelona need to

drastically reduce their wage bill

ahead of next season, in order to

comply with Financial Fair Play.

With that in mind, Barcelona are

expected to entertain offers for most

of their first team squad, although

they do plan to keep the majority

together ahead of next season.

One player that could leave in the

summer is Franck Kessie, with a return

to Italy having been heavily rumoured

throughout the course of this season.

Speaking to Caught Offside, Fabrizio

Romano has confirmed that Inter

Milan are interested in signing the

Ivorian.

β€œInter Milan appreciate Kessie, he’s

one of the names they have on the

list, and they already wanted him in

January. Let’s see if Financial Fair Play

will change the situation in the

summer.”

Kessie has been firm in his desire to

stay at Barcelona this summer, and

the club itself intend to keep him

around for next season at least.

However, much could depend on

whether they are forced to sell

players due to the financial situation.

-Barcelona planning summer move for promising youngster

Barcelona are not flushed with

options at right back. In Xavi

Hernandez’s first team squad

there are currently no naturals

in the position, which has

meant that Jules Kounde has

operated there for much of the

season.

However, there was hope that

Julian Araujo could look to

establish himself in the role

over the next couple of

seasons, with a view to

becoming first-choice right

back for many years to come.

While that could still be the

case, it appears that he may

not be at Barcelona next

season, with Sport reporting

that club officials have made

the decision to look for a loan

move for Araujo.

The news comes amid reports

that Araujo has struggled in

training since joining the club in

early February, which has

largely been put down to his

lack of match sharpness. Due

to late paperwork, the Mexican

youngster was not registered in

time for the second half of the

season, but Barcelona chose to

bring him over from LA Galaxy

anyway.

It has been a difficult start to l

ife at Barcelona for Araujo, but

a loan move next season could

do him the work of good, as he

looks to properly acclimatise to

European football.
