Liverpool extended their Premier League winning streak to two games following a thrilling 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest this afternoon. After a goalless first half with few chances to score, the second half was exciting as both teams exploded. Liverpool scored their first goal from Jota after just two minutes, but the lead lasted only four minutes before former Red Williams equalized for Forest.
Jota was the hero once again, putting his team ahead with a second attempt, but Gibbs-White's brilliant strike helped the visitors level the score. Salah finally brought Liverpool all 3 points after scoring the winning goal in the 20th minute. The victory puts Klopp's army sixth on the table with 50 points, just six points behind the fourth-placed team, Newcastle. Please see the current EPL table below;
That being said, let's take a look at their next three opponents in the league as they look to increase their chances of making the top four.
- Liverpool's next three games;
* West Ham VS Liverpool (April 26, 2023)
Liverpool's next trip will take them to West Ham. The Red Devils have won 4 of the last 5 meetings with West Ham, showing they are the team to beat in this match. On the other hand, West Ham only lost 1 of the last 9 matches in all competitions. Liverpool need to tread carefully in this move to ensure they get all the maximum points.
* Liverpool VS Tottenham (April 30, 2023)
After the trip to West Ham, Liverpool will face the struggling Tottenham in the next match. Anfield has a reputation as a difficult stadium to visit, and history still holds true for Tottenham, as their last win was in 2011. Given Tottenham's recent poor form, Liverpool is clearly the candidate. good candidate to win this match.
* Liverpool v Fulham (May 3, 2023)
Liverpool's last game on the schedule will be against Fulham on May 3. Fulham have proven to be an annoying opponent in the past but Liverpool will have the advantage of playing at home this match, which will give them a better chance of winning. With their current form, I'm sure they will beat Fulham.
If Liverpool can take all nine points from those three games, it will certainly increase their chances of finishing in the top four.
