Manchester City's Erling Haaland celebrates after scoring his team's first goal during the Champions League quarter-final second leg between Bayern Munich and Manchester City at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany on Wednesday (May 19). 4) year 2023.

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is on track to set the record for the greatest individual campaign in Premier League history.

Haaland is only 22 years old and is adjusting to a new league and country, but he has had an incredible first season in Pep Guardiola's all-conquering squad. Man City are still fighting for the treble and Haaland's firepower is key.

The Norwegian international equaled Mohamed Salah's record of 32 goals in a 38-game season in the Premier League. Just three more games are needed to break the Premier League record set by Andy Cole (1993-94) and Alan Shearer (1994-95) when the league lasted 42 games.

But he also breaks it on all fronts. He has scored 12 goals in eight Champions League appearances and has 48 goals in all competitions - a record in the Premier League era.

City have 13 games left and if Haaland can maintain his scoring record in the coming period, he will erase many records.

"I want, I want him to break every record possible because if he scores a lot of goals it means it helps us," Guardiola told reporters recently.

“It's impressive and we still have eight or 10 games and he's close to breaking all of them.

“I don't know all the statistics I don't know it – you inform to me. All I can say is it is impressive.”

But how does Haaland's 2022-23 record so far compare to the absolute Premier League greats? We've compared his numbers in all competitions in 2022-23 to the best individual campaigns of some of the best forwards in the English game since 1992.
