Liverpool defeated Nottingham Forest 3-2 on Saturday to secure back-to-back victories. Mohamed Salah scored the game's winning goal.

Diogo Jota, who scored twice to lead Liverpool to a 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest, believes the Reds' resilience in the face of adversity shows they are regaining confidence.

Jota's brace and goals from Neco Williams and Morgan Gibbs-White put Liverpool to the test, but Mohamed Salah's close-range goal gave the Reds the victory in a back-and-forth game at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp's team has endured a five-game losing streak, so competing for a top-four Premier League finish appears to be a difficult task, but they have already secured back-to-back triumphs.

Prior to their victories over Leeds United and Forest, Liverpool had rallied from a two-goal deficit to tie with league-leading Arsenal, and Jota expects to capitalise on their recent upward trend.

"[We had to answer] twice. I believe it is significant because it demonstrates the team's growing self-confidence, which is crucial to remember going forward, he told the club's website.

"It inspires the troops with confidence. We firmly believe in what we're doing, and despite having the opportunity to beat Arsenal, we ultimately failed to seize it.

However, there have already been two consecutive losses, and this is the only way we can compete for the top spot in the table.

Jota has scored four goals in his past two Premier League games after failing to score in his previous 20 appearances in the division. He also scored twice in a 6-1 thumping of Leeds on Monday.

Jota said, "I said before the first goal, it's always hard when it doesn't arrive so easily, but then everything seems to flow." after his goal drought ended.

Nottingham Forest defender Moussa Niakhate has received high praise from Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool. Yesterday at Anfield, the Reds' defender shone as Klopp's squad defeated Forest 3-2.
