After 120 minutes of play ended with no goals, Erik ten Hag's team prevailed 7-6 on penalties, with all seven Reds shooters scoring in the extra period. After a Seagulls ace, Victor Lindelof converted the game-winning penalty. David de Gea couldn't stop Solly March's penalty attempt from crossing the crossbar.
