Arsenal voiced bid for 'powerful' Liverpool icon as Arteta prepares to 'robber' Man Utd transfer
According to Emmanuel Frimpong, Arsenal are set to sign former Liverpool striker Sadio Mane from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners are having a stellar Premier League season with leaders Mikel Arteta five points ahead of second-placed Manchester City, who have two games left before title rivals.
Arsenal have lost six points in their last three games when the Gunners travel to Man City on Wednesday in a title match at the Etihad Stadium.
The Gunners have become a much more attractive option for players under Arteta and whatever may happen this season, they should be able to pitch potential Champions League signings.
Former Gunners midfielder Frimpong believes Bayern Munich striker Mane could be a good choice for Arsenal, with reports suggesting the Bundesliga club are looking to sell him this summer. Mane has contributed seven goals and four assists in 21 Bundesliga appearances, not the impact the German had in mind, as he had a dressing-room clash with Leroy Sane after the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich.
Frimpong said to Lord Ping:
“Sadio Mane would be a great signing for Arsenal, especially with the young players we have, he can play on the wing or in the middle.
“We have players like Trossard, Martinelli and Saka and if we have Mane in the squad to help us through difficult games, we will be strong. I can certainly picture Sadio Mane in an Arsenal shirt.
Regarding Mane's breakup with Mane, Frimpong added:
“Busts always happen in football. I remember at Arsenal, two players facing each other behind closed doors. Just quit it and move on. In any relationship, be it marriage or friendship, you will have arguments with each other and Leroy Sane and Sadio Mane are no different.
"You would think that because of the similar name (Sane and Mane) they would be close, but unfortunately that's not the case! I heard Mane apologized and they moved on, I think that's the point.
One player Arsenal really want to sign is Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga with Spanish publication AS (via Reuters) insisting that the Gunners are "ready to usurp" Manchester United's move for the player. this young player.
Celta Vigo has 'accepted' Veiga to leave in the summer transfer window with the 20-year-old being valued at £35m by the La Liga side.
