The Gunners lead the Premier League by five points going into the much anticipated match at the Etihad Stadium.
In Wednesday's critical title match at the Etihad Stadium, Andy Morrison, a former captain of Manchester City, issued a warning that Arsenal could suddenly find their form.
With a five-point advantage over City in the race for the Premier League title, the Gunners enter the highly awaited match in second place.
After three straight draws, Arsenal's lead has been diminished while champion City has won six straight and still has two games remaining.
If City wins, the momentum would shift decisively in their favor, but Morrison claims that things are more complicated than that.
The Scot said to the PA news agency: "Statistically it is going to be a difficult ask for Arsenal given their current form and City's incredible record at the Etihad.
"Everything is against them, but you need a stage, a chance to do something unique, and that opportunity is there for them. They must understand it.
"They've lost the advantage they had after three draws, but they haven't lost the chance.
"If they lose this game, it will be very difficult for them, but they still have that chance. If they beat Man City now, they'll be ahead of the game.
They'll be energetic and back to work. Everything will be up for grabs when they regain control of it. It's a big game, and I believe the score is more closer than people are claiming.
In their three most recent games, Arsenal twice let two-goal leads slip away—against West Ham and Liverpool—before having to rally from 3-1 down at bottom-place Southampton.
It appeared as though their challenge was disintegrating as the match against hotly favored City drew near, but both teams are under pressure.
"I have heard a lot of people over the last month say Arsenal still has to go play Man City but the opposite of it is Man City still has to play Arsenal," added Morrison, who led City to their Second Division play-off final victory in 1999.
They are up against a fantastic team, so it is harder said than done, but in life you need a platform, and this is their chance.
