OPPONG NKRUMAH'S REACTION TO FRIMPONG-BOATENG

featured img

Greetings, Mr. Oppong Nkrumah

I've read what you said in response to what I said in the report I gave the chief of staff a little more than two years ago.

It's understandable that you would dispute what I wrote. In your situation, very few people will take responsibility for their mistakes.

But I have some wise counsel for you. We were colleagues while I worked for the government, and I regarded you as such. Like my son, I will now give you advice, just like I do for my kids.

You share the same age as my fourth-born son, after all. You were my fourth kid and just six years old when I started the cardiothoracic project after returning to Ghana from Germany. I won't mislead you, call you names, or treat you harshly.

I always keep in mind that political power is ephemeral and fleeting.

You might not be in office for around two years, at which point you might live in the same society as past prominent political figures.

I shall implore you to work hard and refrain from using the subterfuge and nasty strategies that Mr. Paul Adom Okyere boastfully and shamelessly revealed to the world on "Good Evening Ghana" that you use to deal with your actual and imagined opponents.

Let me briefly discuss illicit mining.

Someone from your constituency emailed me a video of illegal mining operations in your hometown last week. I'd like not to accept that what was mentioned regarding your involvement is accurate.

The crucial fact is that Chinese miners are working with colleagues from Ghana to do illicit mining just outside your door. I urge you to look into it and take the necessary steps.

The President of the Republic often tells Ghanaians that he is committed to fighting illegal mining.

As you are aware, unlawful mining includes the following as well as the lack of a concession or mining permit:

1. Mining near bodies of water

2. Directing tailings into bodies of water

3. Mining near waterways

4. Using harmful substances like cyanide and mercury

5. Foreigners working in small-scale mining

Mined-out places are not being restored.

A wonderful day to you!
