According to Harry Kane, he will have to leave Tottenham this summer
Former Tottenham player William Gallas has suggested that Harry Kane will leave the club this summer as they are not currently in a position to challenge for silverware. Kane is still waiting to win a major trophy, but he wants to remain in England to surpass Alan Shearer's record of 260 Premier League goals, with the Spurs forward currently on 207 strikes. Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing the England captain, who turns 30 in July.
Kane will enter the final year of his Tottenham contract this summer, and it is thought that his next contract will be the last long-term deal of his career. Spurs will not want to lose him on a free transfer next summer, so they may be willing to consider a sale this summer if the right offer comes in.
Gallas, who played for Tottenham between 2010 and 2013 and was on the pitch when Kane made his Spurs debut, was asked what he would do if he was in the forward's shoes. The former Arsenal and Chelsea defender replied that Kane has to go as he wants him to have the experience of lifting a trophy, and Tottenham can't give him that opportunity.
He further added that Kane has never been a selfish guy, he has always done what is asked of him, and he has scored so many goals for the club. The team hasn't been able to give him what he wants, and after the recent 6-1 defeat to Newcastle, it was a little bit embarrassing for the players and the fans.
Manchester United are reportedly ready to make an offer for Kane, but it remains to be seen whether Spurs will be willing to sell their star player to a direct Premier League rival. Kane has been one of the most consistent performers in the league over the past few seasons and would undoubtedly improve any team he joins.
If Kane were to leave Spurs this summer, it would be a significant blow for the club, as he has been their main source of goals for several seasons. However, it may be the right time for Kane to move on and pursue his dream of winning silverware.
