Two Barcelona stars have rejected the club's call for a pay cut, as they do their best to reduce their wage bill.

Gavi has also run into problems as he is unable to sign up and is technically still a player for their youth team, which could even see him leave for free next summer.

The club want to bring Messi back to the Camp Nou this summer, with his contract at Paris Saint-Germain coming to an end, although there is the possibility of a new deal in France. Whether that happens or not, they will most likely have to sell players this summer to make up for the huge salary.
They are also trying to get all the players on the team to get a pay cut, which would see them all take a 15% pay cut.

However, the idea fell through when SPORT reported that Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen had turned down the offer.

The pair's contract caused problems for the club as they were initially unable to be registered when they arrived last summer. Kessie joined the club for free from AC Milan, despite interest from many other clubs, and narrowly missed a return to Italy during the January transfer window.

Christensen also had no transfer fee when he arrived from Chelsea, after his contract in west London expired at the end of last season.
Barca will indeed receive information that they refuse the deduction, as the players only signed a year ago.
They also sympathize with the couple's refusal to move elsewhere or stay at their previous club to move to Spain.
