Manchester United legend Nemanja Vidic responded when asked if he would sign Harry Kane this summer.
The Telegraph reports Kane is emerging as a serious Manchester United target this summer with the club already planning a move.
United need to sign a striker this summer, with Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst suffering unconvincing injuries.
Kane, 29, has proven himself in the Premier League and is seen by many as a safe option for United to invest in this summer.

Vidic is not convinced by Kane
Nemanja Vidic spoke to former team-mate Rio Ferdinand on his YouTube channel Five and was asked which striker he would sign for the club this summer. The Serb manager hesitated to choose a name and expressed the view that United need to continue to strengthen in other areas, instead of pinning their hopes on a striker as the club's savior. .
I said:
"If you ask me honestly, I would say not just one striker. I think the players who win the title are definitely the players in the midfield. I think we can strengthen that further. Striker is the hardest question you can ask. "I wouldn't buy a striker if I wasn't 100% sure."
Ferdinand suggested names for Vidic, including Harry Kane, and he was unwavering. In fact, Vidic insists he will go in a different direction because Kane is older.
I said:
"Kane, how much?" [He is] the best striker of the last 10 years, he will score goals, I will definitely look for other options.
“There is a way to have a striker for many years. The club must reflect for many years. You have to find a 23-year-old player, 24 years old they will be there for seven years, especially in the heart of the team.
Kane turns 30 this summer and without a big transfer fee, United are not coming back. It can cost up to £80 million.
It's not a team that won titles immediately like when United signed Robin van Persie or Teddy Sheringham at a similar age in their careers. United are not just short of a striker and, as Vidic says, need to think long-term. Although Kane has proven himself in the Premier League, it is the long-term argument that is most important against signing him. United could of course solve this problem by signing a talented young striker who can also learn from him.
