The Premier League supercomputer forecasts the title, top four, and relegation positions.
The Premier League season is set to end on a high note, with Arsenal and Manchester City battling for the title and the fight for the top four and top-flight survival coming down to the wire.
Manchester City will win the Premier League title ahead of leaders Arsenal, as predicted by supercomputer.
This year's Premier League title campaign is a two-horse battle, with Arsenal presently leading by five points over second-placed Manchester City. However, with two games remaining, Pep Guardiola's City will know they will win the title if they win their remaining ties.
The first of these is a massive, season-defining game with Mikel Arteta's Arsenal tomorrow night at the Etihad Stadium. If one side wins all three points, the title will almost surely go to them, and the supercomputer appears to concur.
With only a few games remaining, it has simulated all remaining Premier League matchups several times based on results thus far this season, and has given a final league standings based on the average of those simulations. And it was City who came out on top, with the Manchester club expected to end on 90 points, edging out second-placed Arsenal, who will finish on 89.
City would win their fifth Premier League title in six years, while Arsenal would be left wondering how they let their first crown since 2004 slip away.
According to the supercomputer, Eddie Howe's Newcastle United are third in the fight for Europe, having finished their great season with 72 points ahead of Erik ten Hag's resurgent Manchester United, who have 70 points and occupy the last Champions League spot.
Brighton takes fifth place and automatic Europa regular qualifying, as the Seagulls secure a merited berth in Europe following their remarkable record during the regular season, as well as an FA Cup semi-final appearance.
Liverpool's recent revival has been strong enough for the supercomputer to predict a top-six finish, with Jurgen Klopp's side missing out on the Champions League.
Following their 6-1 defeat at Newcastle on the weekend, where the Magpies led 5-0 after 25 minutes, a seventh-place finish for Tottenham may be considered generous in their present form, especially with Aston Villa only two points behind them.
Villa have won six of their past eight games and have not lost since a 4-2 setback to Arsenal in February, but the supercomputer has them ranked ninth with 59 points, implying a late slump in form.
Fulham and Brentford close out the top half following two strong performances, putting Chelsea out of the Premier League's top ten for the first time since 1995/96. Chelsea have been nothing short of dismal in recent months, despite investing more than £300 million in January alone to upgrade their underperforming squad.
In terms of the relegation battle, Southampton is expected to stay at the bottom of the standings, after having propped up the table since December.
According to the computer, Nottingham Forest finished level with Southampton on 29 points, sentencing Forest to an immediate relegation to the Championship after their first season back Since 1999, the club has been in the top flight.
Everton completes the bottom three. Despite Sean Dyche's presence at Goodison Park, the former Burnley manager is expected to leave his newly promoted former team.
The supercomputer's projection would see Everton drop into English football's second division for the first time in nearly 70 years, with the Toffees playing in the top flight consistently from 1954 until present.
