Kojo Bonsu, a former chief executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly and one of the three contenders for the position of National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, concluded his year-long "Reboot for Unity and Victory" campaign on Sunday (April 23) in the Western North Region, where delegates joined their counterparts in the Western Region to show their support for him.

At Sefwi Wiawso, Bibiani, Akontombra, Bodi, Anhwiaso, Bekwai, Juaboso, and Suaman, delegates physically surrounded him as they bought into his message to infuse the party with fresh life and vigor.

Candidates

Businessman and well-known football administrator Mr. Bonsu is competing for one position on the team with former president John Dramani Mahama and former finance minister Kwabena Duffuor. Elections for the party's leadership in the 2024 elections will take place on May 13.

According to Mr. Bonsu in an interview with the Daily Graphic, the Western Region is important to Ghana in terms of its economic contribution to the GDP of the nation, which should be recognized.

Mr. Bonsu received positive feedback from voters in a number of Western Region seats, including Amenfi East and West, Ahanta West, Evalue-Gwira, Jomoro, Ellembelle, Prestea-Huni Valley, and Tarkwa Nsuaem.

He attempted to revitalize his much-touted "reboot" for unity and victory during the last stage of his campaign.

He also visited the Northern, Volta, Central, and Eastern areas throughout the campaign.

After a five-day working visit to the Western Region, where he had previously participated in similar exercises, he obtained assurance from delegates in the areas of Central and Volta.

The delegates were all in agreement that Mr. Bonsu would breathe fresh vitality into the party.

Former Managing Director of the Ghana Oil Company (GOIL), Mr. Bonsu, pledged to continue the work of outgoing President John Dramani Mahama and to revive the "government of continuity" mentality.

Mr. Bonsu has held the positions of Director of the National Sports Authority and Representative of Adidas for West Africa for 20 years, respectively.

Achievement

The well-known Kejetia Market, Rattray Park, Asawase Market, Atonso-Agogo Market, schools, roads, and the restored Prempeh Assembly Hall are just a few of the numerous development projects he constructed while serving as the previous CEO of the KMA.
