In order for Liverpool to successfully recover from a challenging season, Jurgen Klopp has stated that the team needs to adopt a new strategy for preseason during the summer.
The Reds had a poor 2022–2023 campaign, failing to contend for either the Premier League crown or any cup trophies. A very busy 2021–2022, during which Liverpool won the FA Cup, Carabao Cup, came within one point of winning the Premier League, and lost to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final, has led to this challenging campaign and the club's players' fitness difficulties.
While Liverpool have yet to formally confirm their full intentions, they will spend at least one week at a training camp in Germany as they prepare for the forthcoming preseason before embarking on another international trip, which is anticipated to take them back to Singapore.
In order to make sure that the team is prepared for the upcoming season, Klopp has stated his resolve to prevent a repetition of last season's difficulties.
When asked if Liverpool has different preseason preparations from last year, the German responded, "It's completely normal, you cannot compare it."
"Last season, we competed in every final and played through the very end. I simply cannot tell the boys, "Two weeks and I'll see you again for training," though. Therefore, you must maximize every minute.
"But then we planned the pre-season at that time, who could know...yes, we can always think we'll be in the Champions League final, but we have to plan it early and typically you have to plan without the Champions League final because that doesn't happen constantly, you just have to deal with it," he continued. And we coped with it, that's what we did.
It was never a flawless pre-season, but that is not the reason for our current season because before that we had comparable pre-seasons. "But then we started in Thailand and pretty much played right away because we had to, and then the boys came back step by step by step.
