Declan Rice's potential absence from West Ham for the upcoming season has been acknowledged by manager David Moyes.
The 24-year-old has been in outstanding form lately, helping West Ham escape imminent danger of relegation with victories over Fulham and Bournemouth as well as a thrilling draw with Arsenal.
But given the interest from several clubs, Rice's time at the London Stadium in 2022–23 is increasingly likely to be his last. Back in February, 90min stated that Rice is still a target for Manchester City, with Arsenal and Chelsea also showing interest in the gifted midfielder.
Moyes has said that he hopes Rice will decide to re-sign with the London club, despite the fact that the club is anticipated to be difficult in negotiating a transfer fee.
"He would be missed by any club; consequently, any club without him would miss him and we certainly would, in part because he is a significant element.
But I secretly hope that Dec believes this is the greatest place for him to be and that he will stay there if someone cannot raise the necessary sum of money. Although the club has made that pretty clear, I hope we can still get the best performance out of Dec.
Rice expressed his ambition to play Champions League football while competing in the World Cup the year before.
"I am adamant that I want to participate in the Champions League. I've been repeating it for the past two to three years. I've been performing admirably for my club and feel as though I truly want to keep striving. I recognize several of my pals who are competing in the Champions League and for significant titles.
"You only have one career, so you want to look back on your accomplishments and the biggest games you've played in."
Although the anticipated departure has come to light as the season has progressed, Rice's performances indicate that his focus has remained unshakable, which is an opinion shared by Moyes:
