Former Chelsea star Frank Leboeuf urged Frank Lampard to quit his role as interim boss and warned the Blues legend 'might not win a game until the end of the season'.

Lampard's miserable return to the Chelsea dugout continued as Brentford enjoyed a 2-0 West London derby victory at Stamford Bridge.

It was a fifth consecutive loss for Lampard since he took over from Graham Potter earlier this month.

'We've said it all you know,' Leboeuf, 55, told ESPN. 'There is nothing I can say. Maybe to Frank Lampard - get out! Get out quickly.'

'There is nothing you can do. They need a win. One win. Three points to make sure they are not going to be relegated.

'Again we're talking about Chelsea. That's appalling. But in fact when you watch all of the games they just deserve to be there.

'I've been nice to some players - Wesley Fofana. You have to wake up. They don't work together.

'It's normal to concede goals. That one is an own goal ok that can happen but a little bit of nobody getting responsibility for going for the header.

'But after that second one they get the ball and Wesley Fofana - what are you doing? Go there quicker.

'And Thiago Silva so wide away from Fofana. Nothing works properly and I never thought I was the best defender in the world. But at least I can see that.'

The former French defender continued: 'I would never leave my teammates so far away from me as a centre-back. Never. Those details make Chelsea so bad.

'I saw so many bad things. Kovacic made a pass 20 yards away from his teammate. Nothing works and it's going to be a horrible end to the season.

'Frank Lampard - get out because you are not going to stay. You might not win a game until the end of the season.'

Brentford led through Cesar Azpilicueta's first-half own goal after Chelsea had again struggled to create chances and some fans booed off Lampard's men at the break.

Chelsea's sixth winless game in a row at home was confirmed when Bees substitute Bryan Mbeumo ran half the length of the pitch unchallenged 12 minutes from time.

'Absolutely the fans are going to be worried,' said Lampard. 'If you're a Chelsea fan, you've been used to 20 years of success, you're used to it and you want it more.

'I've got no problem with fans booing. I'm not sitting here to go against the fans and say don't boo the players. I'll defend the players because they're young lads who want to do well. Is there an issue with confidence? Yes. Is there an issue with the balance of the squad? Maybe yes.

'I'm not patronising everybody, I expect them to have an idea what's going on behind the scenes, but when you work with it in this Premier League, if you think Brentford are going to come and turn you around and have corners and throw-ins against you and you're going to walk that game, that's not the case any time.

'When you're in this moment with a lack of confidence, then it can be difficult to win a game. I'm not exonerating the players, far from it. I'm just supporting them. They're in there disappointed because they wanted to win that game. They performed in my opinion like they wanted to win it.

'Is there a confidence issue? Yes. Are we dynamic enough in the final third? No. Have we been for a long time before I came here? No. Those things are not things that are going to turn overnight. We have to keep working.

'I understand the fans booing. I don't think anybody is saying they can't beli eve that's the case today
