This is not a confession but I'm just confused.

So I'm in my first year in college going to 2nd year ( UPSA ) btw. We took French in both semesters. There's this quiet guy in my class we all know he's rich cuz he's an international student and he drives his own car and to add up to everything Chale the guy be anti-soial he barely talks in class but he's very loud in the group chat. During our IA period he asked in the group if anyone will help him do his French IA cuz he took Spanish class in high school and didn't get the chance to do French. No one minded him and since I'm good in French I offered to help. He passed with 36/40 which is very good for an IA score. We don't text that much maybe once a month and it's mostly how are you kinda vibes. This is where I get confused, so whenever I post something on my status about bags and makeups and shoes etc. he asks me do I want it and if I say yes he sends me cash to buy it. He even sent me 3.5k ghana cedis to add up to my budget to get and iPhone 12. Whenever I ask him why he's being so kind to me he tells me it's because I helped him in his French IA. Chale which friend does this. And we barely even talk. Even when he comes to class he acts as if he doesn't even know me. Tbh he's very weird.  I told a friend about it and she told me maybe he likes me but I should be careful he doesn't take advantage of me. I haven't talked to him about his relationship life but I'm being tempted to ask and maybe shoot my shot if he's single. He's good-looking btw.

My question is why would someone do these stuff all because you helped him in his IA. Is he trying this to lure me into doing things with him. Should I ask him about his relationship life. Or I should just remain quiet and enjoy the privileges.
