In the GOAT discussion, Paulo Dybala claims he told Cristiano Ronaldo he 'hated him,' with the ex-Juventus player 'always on Lionel Messi's side.

Because of his Argentine heritage, Paulo Dybala informed Cristiano Ronaldo that he "hated him as a kid" during their time together at Juventus.

Dybala and CR7 were teammates at Juventus for three seasons.

Argentine admitted to "hating him as a kid"

However, in the GOAT discussion, he supports compatriot Messi.

WHAT OCCURED? Before the Portuguese's spectacular return to Manchester United in the summer of 2021, the attacking duo had three seasons together, winning two Serie A titles and a number of domestic cups. But, as Dybala humorously informed Ronaldo, playing beside one of the best players of all time at club level was still an odd sensation for Dybala, whose sympathies in that argument are obviously in favor of his national idol.

HOW THEY SAID IT: "It was three good years with Cristiano, the team was strong, and he gave us something extra," the Argentine told DAZN's 'Scacco Capitale' host Diletta Leotta. In Argentina, the competition between him and [Lionel] Messi is intense, and as a child, I was always on Messi's side. When we were on a plane to go play a game, I was in the back and he was in the front. He approached me at one time to discuss football and other topics. We used to talk about our life in general, and I told him, "I basically hated you as a kid." We had a good laugh. We've always had a positive relationship.

THE BIGGER PICTURE: While Ronaldo left Juventus in 2021, Dybala followed a year later, joining Jose Mourinho's Roma in the Italian city. Despite some physical concerns, the 29-year-old has contributed 25 goals in 34 matches this season, helping the Giallorossi to within a goal difference of the Champions League and all the way to the Europa League semi-finals.

Dybala elaborated on his choice to join the capital club, saying, "The story begins a little here at the Colosseum." I grew up watching movies about Rome and the gladiators. I must have watched 'Gladiator' at least twenty times. These thoughts came to mind when Tiago Pinto approached us. "I told myself, 'I need to do something in this city.'"

ADDITIONALLY, Mourinho is enjoying a revival in Rome, and Dybala stated that the Portuguese was instrumental in luring him to the club: "Mourinho has an image and an important power for what he represents in the world of football." He'd make an excellent chess player. We spoke twice before I arrived in Roma; he is quite skilled at 'getting inside someone'. I had a peculiar feeling: it is unusual to meet someone who speaks honestly in the world of sport."
