Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag vents fury at three players during dramatic Tottenham draw

Manchester United and Tottenham faced off in a highly entertaining clash on Thursday night, which ended in a 2-2 draw. The game saw United take a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford, only for Tottenham to come back with goals from Pedro Porro and Son Heung-min, securing a point for the home side. Here are five things we learned from the game.

Firstly, United manager Erik ten Hag has no problem standing for the majority of the matches and demanding perfection from his players. During the game, he was seen shouting at Aaron Wan-Bissaka for allowing Richarlison to get behind him, and even at Sancho, despite his goalscoring contribution, for failing to track back after scoring. This shows the Dutchman's tough side and how he demands absolute perfection from his players.

Secondly, Tottenham fans were very vocal throughout the game. Before the match, they were protesting against the club's chairman, Daniel Levy, both outside and inside the stadium. At half time, the fans jeered the Tottenham players off the field after the goals from Sancho and Rashford. Tottenham's in-house TV channel kept turning to Levy, which probably didn't help the mood at home for those watching on. However, after the break, Tottenham came back a transformed side, showing character and determination to secure a point.

Thirdly, Marcus Rashford has been the standout player for Manchester United this season, scoring 29 goals so far, just one away from breaking the 30 barrier. His goal against Tottenham was a testament to the coaching he's received from Benni McCarthy, who has helped him become more direct and decisive in front of goal. The last United player to break the 30-goal barrier was Robin van Persie, a decade ago.

Fourthly, Luke Shaw has been playing in a new role as a center-back for United, and he's been flourishing in this position. He's been solid defensively and showed versatility by keeping Harry Kane quiet, along with Victor Lindelof, despite Tottenham's comeback. United recently gave Shaw a new four-year contract, and it's easy to see why Ten Hag likes him so much.

Lastly, United should learn from Tottenham's stadium when it comes to media sections. Those sat in the media section were subjected to a downpour, with rain falling on laptops and gadgets that journalists were using to do their work. Given how much Tottenham spent on their arena, that was a massive oversight. United should also learn a lesson on complacency, too, something that's crept into their game in recent times.

In conclusion, the game between Manchester United and Tottenham was highly entertaining and provided valuable insights for both teams. United's manager demands perfection from his players, Tottenham showed character and determination to secure a point, Rashford has been the standout player for United, Shaw is flourishing in his new role, and United can learn from Tottenham's stadium when it comes to media sections and complacency.
